Meet the Team

Eduardo Galeana
Director - TRiO Programs

Eduardo Galeana has served as the Director of TRiO Programs since September 2022. In his role, Eduardo oversees the day-to-day operations and management of the Student Support Services Program, Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math & Science Programs.

Prior to joining the LAVC community, Eduardo worked in various roles within the areas of grants management at ELAC, LA Harbor College, and LA City College. 

Eduardo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and a Master's Degree in Education from UCLA. 

Gabriela Caballero
Trio Counselor

Gabriela Caballero serves as the counselor for the TRIO/Student Support Services (SSS) Program. In addition, she assists in the coordination of events and program development. She has over 15 years of experience in higher education. Prior to LA Valley she worked for LAUSD, the CSU system and various campuses through LACCD: Mission, Trade Tech, and Pierce.  She has an extensive background working with a diverse student population. 

She is a proud product of the community college system, and first in her family to attend college and obtain a degree in higher education. She transferred to Cal State, Northridge where she earned her BA degree in Psychology and Masters of Science degree in Educational Psychology and College Counseling with an emphasis in Career Counseling.

She is passionate about higher education, student development, mentorship and life-long learning. 

Diana Carreon
Registration Assistant

Diana Carreon (left) serves as a Registration Assistant for the TRiO Program. Diana completed her BS in Finance at CSUN in June 2023. 

Melina Valle
Student Worker

Melina Valle is a Student Worker with the TRiO Programs. Melina studies Child Development at LAVC.

Yuliana Santiago
Student Worker

Yuliana Santiago (right) serves as a Student Worker for the TRiO Program. Yuli is completing her degree in Business Administration at CSUN.
